I'm trying to not sit around and knit all day, now that I'm unemployed (good thing Stitches East happened before I lost my job, eh?) - there's lots of job-hunting to do, plenty of housework and other home/family projects, and lots to do for Sisterhood, PTO, etc. But I *am* whittling down my stash and queue, even as I read Ravelry and fall in love with new patterns daily.
So 2008 ended with me finishing up two projects for Hubby, his Kinetic scarf and Broad Street gloves. The gloves may not work for photography quite as well as we'd hoped, even if I do add a bit of elastic to the ribbing on the flap. If I don't inherit them, I'll likely make a pair for myself, to match my brown coat. I'll have to drop a needle size, though.
I also finished the skirt made from Arlyne's yarn. It's gorgeous, and goes really well with the grey boots I bought on a whim! Lots of knots are left to be woven in (I can't imagine what was going on that she had to make so many knots!), but the skirt is wearable.
2009 began with two quick projects, a cowl for myself, to go with the aforementioned brown coat, and four crocheted hexagons as part of a communal blanket project.
So now I'm down to three WIP: Lady Eleanor, and two scarves - the interminable blue Cat's Paw lace, and a mesh for Sis that's using up the last of the skirt yarn. These are likely to be put aside briefly so I can whisk out a replacement for my dying slippers (and use up some more leftover stash in the process). Not having a daily train ride is cutting into my knitting time, but I'm going to get through these so I can dive into the mroe exciting projects that await.
